The members of the City of Seattle's Human Rights Commission (SHRC) weren't exactly palling around when they sent their first letter to Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon. They wrote with an urgent warning about Amazon's security contractor, Security Industry Specialists (SIS). The letter comes after Salon.com reported on alleged intimidation by SIS at Amazon headquarters.
The Seattle Human Rights Commission, which calls attention to human rights concerns affecting residents and workers in Seattle, urged Bezos to ensure that subcontracted officers are treated with respect and dignity, do not face discrimination, and are able to exercise their right to organize together in a union.
