Last week marked the 4th anniversary of the massive firing of hundreds of Paraguayan officers by one of the largest security companies in Latin America—Prosegur. The 327 officers were participating in a lawful strike over wages and safety demands.
The officers were fired the day they returned to work expecting to resume negotiations in good faith. The company’s conduct during negotiations and in the firings are subject of ongoing complaints with the International Labor Office (ILO) and Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
